HABITAT – Nature-Inspired Art Focused on Bird & Wildlife Conservation

Our connection with nature runs deeper than we often realize or think about during our daily lives. In my new art collection, HABITAT, I explore this relationship through a series of mixed media oil paintings that pair Pacific Northwest wildlife with everyday human-made objects—like a bobcat resting on a chair in a field of wildflowers, or a cedar waxwing perched on a vintage rotary phone.

These visual pairings may seem surprising, but they’re intentionally designed to spark questions:

How do our everyday choices shape the spaces we inhabit? How do they impact spaces that wildlife needs to thrive or even survive? What does it mean to share our world with wildlife?

Through these domestic yet symbolic objects, I encourage reflection on how we share space with wildlife—and how the choices we make shape their future.

At a time when our public lands and wilderness areas are facing increasing threats, HABITAT calls us to recognize that wildlife and nature are important to protect and not separate from us. We are part of the same ecosystem.  Through these works, I hope to offer a visual dialogue that is both joyful and thought-provoking—a reminder that conservation begins with awareness and appreciation, and that even small moments of noticing can lead to meaningful change.

Each painting in this collection invites viewers to reflect on our connection with nature and how our decisions impact the survival and well-being of wildlife. My goal is to offer more than beauty—I want to invite curiosity and inspire awareness. Nature conservation art aims to rekindle the wonder of the wild and express awe for nature that is often difficult to explain in words.

Through HABITAT, I hope to create a moment of pause. A space where we remember that our choices matter. That we can advocate in big but even small ways. That a simple decision—how we interact with nature, what we protect, what we value—can make a big difference.

If you’re someone who finds peace in nature, who notices birdsong in the morning, or loves to go hiking in the woods, I invite you to explore this collection. Through layered textures and thoughtful composition, I aspire to create a sense of reverence and curiosity.  I hope my artwork speaks to your heart, and inspires you to speak up for wildlife and the wild places they call home—because they can’t advocate for themselves, but we can.

Explore the HABITAT Collection and discover artwork that celebrates the connection between humanity and the wild, and the urgent need to care for the habitats that allow each living species to thrive.
