A fresh new start…

I started a new sketch book this weekend!  I love the feeling of those smooth, brandnew pages waiting to be filled with color.  In the past, I have always put the date on each page after I make a drawing and worked on just one drawing at a time.  I’ve been reading some art journaling books lately and these books encouraged me to draw frequently and on multiple pages at a time.  The idea is that you can elaborate on a drawing when you come back to it, adding more detail, layers or texture after looking at it with fresh eyes.  So, that’s what I’m going to try to do.
Since I still want to have a sense of when I started the sketch book, I just added the date on the first page and when all the pages are fully illustrated, I will add that date on the last page to show the timeline I worked on this sketchbook.

I purchased the RENDR sketchbook because the pages don’t bleed through. I have not tried to paint in this sketchbook yet but so far my highly saturating Prismacolor markers are not bleeding through so I’m thinking I bought a good one.

Do you keep a sketchbook?  Do you draw on one page at a time or enjoy creating on multiple pages at a time?
