I've always had a hard time drawing bears. There. Now you know it! ;0) I don't exactly know why either, except that they kind of look like a blob and don't have any distinguishing features such as the trunk and big ears of an elephant. This is why it is remarkable that one night I sat down and had this strong urge to draw not just one, but two bears! Polar bears to be specific. I was very tired that night but couldn't help but grab a plain old pencil and a piece of paper to sketch out this idea in my head. The shapes started forming and before I knew it, I had drawn two cute polar bears, one handing the other one a heart. My designs are all about sharing love! I plopped some stars above them to frame the picture and add to the atmosphere. These creatures were meant to be! After the initial sketch, I went through a few different versions with a black marker. Once I come up with a satisfactory drawing, I scan the image and continue to work with it digitally. Sometimes, I add color before scanning; sometimes afterwards. Always, I start with a hand drawn image. When all looks perfect, I upload the image in my shop at www.zazzle.com/presentsoflove* to create hundreds of gift items that customers can easily customize and personalize with their name or other special details. Ta da! This is how the kitchen towel turned out. Won't that look cheerful for the holidays?! I added a bunch of items with this design to the seasonal section of my site and you can also find them at my zazzle shop. Happy shopping!
